Our Story
Bar Esper was created inside Hotel Spero with a clear intention: to build a tavern that feels at ease in its surroundings while remaining open to influences beyond them.
The kitchen looks to Portuguese and Japanese coastal traditions, filtered through Northern California seasonality, offering a menu built around sharing, comfort, and preservation. Small plates invite exploration, larger dishes satisfy without excess, and tinned, cured, and house‑made elements add depth throughout.
The bar follows the same approach. Cocktails are layered yet approachable, wines reflect a strong Iberian backbone alongside California producers, and beers rotate between familiar favorites and local craft. Fortified wines and spirit‑free drinks round out the list, offering thoughtful options for every kind of visit.
